Stephen R. Elville, LL.M., J.D., serves as the President and Principal Attorney at Elville and Associates, where he specializes in Estate Planning, Elder Law, Asset Protection, Estate Administration, and Taxation. With a focus on tax planning, disability and special needs planning, and long-term care planning, he brings extensive expertise to his practice. Stephen received his LL.M. cum laude from the University of Baltimore, his J.D. cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore. Admitted to the Maryland Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court, Stephen is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Stephen offers personalized solutions in estate, asset protection, tax planning, disability, and long-term care planning, addressing both crisis situations and pre-crisis planning needs. His practice encompasses wills, trusts, estate tax planning, Medicaid planning, estate administration, and more. He has been named to the Maryland Super Lawyers list from 2015 to 2024 and is a member of prestigious organizations such as NAELA, Elder Counsel, and Wealth Counsel. Stephen has served in leadership roles, including Past Chair of the Howard County Bar Association Estates & Trusts and Elder Law Sections, and currently serves as Chair of the Elder Law and Disability Rights Section Council of the Maryland State Bar Association.
As a sought-after presenter and educator, Stephen shares his expertise with financial advisors, CPAs, and various organizations. He contributes regularly to publications and maintains a daily blog on WBJC.com and elvilleassociates.com. Before founding Elville & Associates, P.C., Stephen worked as a principal at Walsh & Elville, P.A., focusing on estate planning, elder law, and taxation. He has received numerous honors, including the Mark Geraci Tax Scholarship Award in 2001 and consecutive inclusion in the Maryland Super Lawyers list from 2015 to 2024.
